Frederick County Board of Supervisors Chairman Josh Ludwig resigned Monday, marking an abrupt end to his eventful and sometimes tumultuous time on the board.

A letter Ludwig sent Sunday night to his fellow board members and county officials, which was provided to The Winchester Star by Frederick County Public Information Officer Karen Vacchio, said he was stepping down because, “My job is moving me out of state, so I cannot continue any longer in this position.”

Ludwig has worked as an aerospace engineer in the Washington, D.C., area in recent years, according to previous articles. He was unable to be reached for further comment about his resignation.
