A 40-year-old man believed to have overdosed regained consciousness after lifesaving efforts by responding emergency personnel, who also seized 100 grams of methamphetamine during the incident, according to a news release Monday by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Law enforcement was originally dispatched to a Security-Widefield residence Saturday evening after a call reporting an overdose. The release stated the reporting party was administering CPR when deputies arrived, who then took over lifesaving efforts and administered Narcan.
Emergency medical personnel from the Security Fire Department arrived shortly after to administer a second dose of Narcan and use an AED, according to the release. The man regained consciousness .
