NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - A military base near Newton Falls is set to conduct explosives training, notifying residents that they may experience an increase in blast noise from the base.

Camp James A. Garfield Joint Military Training Center East, located at 1438 State Route 534 in Newton Falls, shared the notification in a Monday news release.

The training will be conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday to help train the Ohio Army National Guard's 147th Regiment (Regional Training Institute).

The 147th Regiment, according to the notification, will be conducting training specifically designed for soldiers taking the combat engineer course.
