As Jason Molden was driving his '72 Monte Carlo from his home in Strathcona County, Alberta to Aldergrove, he found out there was a forest fire in his way.

"Fortunately I got a tip from a friend saying, hey, the road was closed," Molden recounted. "I diverted around. I think [the new route] went down Hwy. 24. What a gorgeous highway that was."

It was Saturday, the day of the show, and Molden had parked his car on Fraser Hwy., with a miniature, custom-made slot car track running laps in his engine compartment. Molden's was one of about 1,300 vehicles on display at Canada's largest charity car show.

Cruise-In president Riccardo Sestito said it was the biggest turnout for the annual show since it moved to Aldergrove, and it went well.
