MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Tennessee students are being encouraged to take the first step toward their college and career goals this September as the state kicks off its annual College Application & Exploration Month.

The initiative, led by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC), is designed to build excitement and provide resources for students applying to college.

One key focus is the Tennessee Promise scholarship, which allows eligible high school seniors to attend community or technical college tuition-free.

The application deadline for Tennessee Promise is November 3, 2025, but officials said students should apply this month to secure their opportunity early.
