BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — A 19-year-old man was arrested Monday for a shooting that happened last week in Bluffton.

Malik Geoffrey Winston was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Bluffton police arrested Winston in connection with a Sept. 3 shooting that left an unidentified 18-year-old seriously injured.

Officers were responding to a welfare check on May River Road around 8:05 p.m. when they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso inside a vehicle.

He was taken to a nearby hospital via air ambulance and remains hospitalized, according to the police department.
