SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - If you’ve been thinking about an electric car and were counting on a big tax break, the countdown is on. Those credits on EVs and plug-in hybrids expire at the end of the month.
“I think they’re great cars,” said Ethan Steury. “I mostly got mine for the speed and technology.”
Steury drives a 2022 Tesla 3 Performance. No gas required. He bought it when there was not a tax credit, but says every little bit helps.
“I think it’s a great initiative if someone wants to go out and buy an electric vehicle. Gives them a little bump,” said Steury.
If you want the credit on your taxes, you need to act fast. It’s up to a $7,500 credit for a new EV and up to $4,000 for a used one.
The deal must be signed before September 30.
