TUSCARAWAS COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A driver was injured Monday afternoon after driving off the side of the road and hitting a gas line, causing a fire.
According to a release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on State Route 212 near the Atwood Lake spillway around 1:40 p.m.
The crash caused a natural gas fire that engulfed a pump house and several feet of land surrounding the building, according to the release.
The driver was able to get out of the car and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The Enbridge Gas company located the valve and immediately shut off the gas.
The repairs of the gas line will affect the Atwood Lake region as well.
