ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Traffic used to driving on 2nd Street NW between Paseo Del Norte and Alameda Boulevard might want to take an alternative route for the next two weeks.
Work that will include removing the existing pavement and laying down new asphalt began Monday, and drivers have been told to expect some lane closures and delays through Sept. 23, when the work is scheduled to be finished.
With plenty of equipment and workers on the road, officials are asking drivers on this stretch of 2nd Street to slow down, stay alert and be patient while the work is being done. It might be wise instead to take 4th Street (slow) or use Interstate 25 or Coors Boulevard (faster) to go north or south.
