The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a crash in Wright County that killed one person and injured two others.

It happened around 7:15 p.m. Sunday on R-38 about 8 miles south of Clarion. A driver was heading southbound when they lost control, entered the east ditch and struck a utility pole and field drive, according the State Patrol.

A passenger was killed in the crash. Two others were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
