GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WVLT) - There’s been a lot of work happening at Appalachian Bear Rescue to once again welcome in rescued wildlife after reaching a new deal with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

ABR said there was some doubt they’d be able to stay afloat, but they’re working to prove those doubters wrong.

Greg Grieco, ABR’s director of operations, said it’s exciting to see how much work has taken place over the last several months.

“Monumental task this looked like 7 or 8 months ago, and seeing it actually come into fruition and the support we’ve gotten is so exciting because if you told me build this 8 months ago, I’d ask how,” Grieco said.
