EAGLE, Neb. (KOLN) - “Small human, large impact.” That was written on the inside of the bracelets being passed out at a candlelight vigil in Eagle on Monday. Those words meant to describe Zane VanArsdall, and the lives he touched in just over a decade.

Hundreds showed their support after his death, holding a vigil for the 11-year-old on Sunday. Zane died suddenly last Friday after being found unresponsive by his parents earlier in the week.

Kelsi Bard, who organized the vigil, remembers getting to know Zane through his friendship with her son.

“He was very friendly,” Bard said. “To know Zane is to love Zane. Goofy, fun-loving, hilarious. One night he stayed the night at my house and stole a piece of bacon right out of my hand as I went to eat it. He’s just a ball of fire and we love him
