MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Clayton, the East Tennessee-based home builder, marked a major conservation milestone on Monday. The company has now planted five million trees since 2022 through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.

Clayton and the Arbor Day Foundation held a ceremony at the company's Maryville headquarters in celebration of their partnership that has restored over 12,000 acres nationwide through conservation projects.

Arbor Day Foundation President Dan Lambe said the five million trees planted on public and private lands across the country help offset the impacts of natural disasters and play a critical role in ecosystem management.
