(KRON) -- Walnut Creek resident Ayisha Stweart planned to go out Monday evening at Broadway Plaza to enjoy a meal at Pinstripes. However, she and her friend walked up to the front door to find out that the bowling alley and restaurant had abruptly closed.
"Shocked," Stewart said. "We're here quite a bit. The food is really good. The service is good -- just like shocked."
Pinstripes in downtown Walnut Creek was indeed shut down and permanently closed, the company confirmed to KRON4. The Midwest-based chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and it intends to facilitate a sale for its remaining locations "as quickly as possible."
The final day of service was held on Sunday, Sept. 7. Pinstripes' closure comes less than 10 months after it opened in the popular East Bay outdoor shopping center
