A firefighter died in the line of duty while working the Dragon Bravo Fire in northern Arizona.

"Southwest Area Incident Management Team 3, under Incident Commander Matt Rau, Grand Canyon National Park, Kaibab National Forest and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service Southwest Region, is profoundly saddened to announce a line-of-duty death that occurred Monday afternoon," states a press release issued by the management team.

The firefighter was actively involved in suppression repair when he suffered a cardiac emergency near the North Rim Entrance Station, the release states. Rapid medical assistance was rendered by a line paramedic; however, resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
