KILN, Miss. (WLOX) - The Hancock Education Foundation put on the very first Hancock County homecoming parade.

While the parade celebrates the beginning of homecoming week, its goal is much larger.

“First of all, we wanted a community-wide event that encompasses all the elementary schools, the middle school, and the high school to kick off homecoming week,” Hancock Education Foundation President Stacey Necaise said. “We wanted an event like this for probably 20 years, and we were able to come together and work really hard with everyone to make this happen. It has been a community-wide effort. I can tell you that much.”

Many community groups and businesses participated, like the Pearl River Community College drumline, which marched in the parade.
