GROVES, Texas — The Port Neches and Groves communities came together Monday night for a meeting about the upcoming November bond, giving residents the chance to ask the district about where the $75 million will go.
District officials said most of the $75 million bond project will pay for upgrades at the high school, including new HVAC systems and new roofs.
“It is a unique situation where we could raise the funds to do these awesome projects and not raise taxes,” said Dr. Scott Ryan, Port Neches-Groves High School principal.
The bond includes a new transportation center, renovations to the high school auditorium, and upgrades to the high school’s HVAC system.
“The band hall, the whole system needs to be replaced. That's one of the ones in particular,” Ryan said.
