(NewsNation) — Authorities have released video of an officer interviewing Bethany Funke following the murder of her friends Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.
Funke was one of two surviving roommates when Bryan Kohberger murdered the University of Idaho students Nov. 13, 2022.
Less than 10 hours after the murders, Funke was interviewed for 28 minutes by Sgt. Dustin Baker of the Moscow, Idaho, Police Department.
Funke described in detail what she remembered from the hours before the murders, while Kohberger was in the house, and the aftermath.
Funke says she woke up to what she thought was "a firework" under her door and heard Goncalves' dog barking, but presumed it was someone making food.
