JASPER COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas man accused of faking the need for a 911 call, including using ketchup to give the illusion of blood, was arrested this weekend.

Dorian Harris, 37, of Evadale, is charged with false report or alarm based on a 911 call that was made on Sunday. His girlfriend saw that he appeared to have injured himself, and she ran out of the house to a neighbor and called 911 for assistance, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

A deputy, sergeant, two Texas Department of Public Safety troopers and an ambulance responded to the scene with emergency equipment. Before the first deputy arrived, Harris told his girlfriend that he planned to assault the ambulance crew when they got there, the JCSO said.
