PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead and a woman is in the hospital after a wrong-way crash in north Phoenix on Monday afternoon.

According to police, 33-year-old Arthur Cody Lomeli was driving east in the westbound lanes on Happy Valley Road when he crashed head-on into another car near 34th Avenue.

Lomei was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The other driver, a woman, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. It’s unclear if impairment or speeding were factors.
