LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Chase Morgan is just like any other 24-year-old.

While early 20s may not seem like the ideal time to buy a home, for Morgan it is. And he’s not alone; more and more Gen Zers in Louisville are jumping into homeownership.

“I love the brick aesthetic,” said Morgan. “Bunch of windows and trees covering the front yard. [I love] the fenced-in backyard as well.”

According to a study by LendingTree , Louisville ranks 8th in the nation for most popular metro for Gen Z homebuyers.

Approximately 23% of mortgage requests in the area are from Gen Zers, and the average down-payment from these buyers is over $33,000.

Jamie Klein’s been selling homes in Louisville for a decade, and he said he’s never seen so many buyers under 30 jumping into the market.
