Officials are investigating another scary incident aboard the SeaRose FPSO on Sunday night in which dropped objects could’ve killed someone.

Sources tell VOCM News that two oxygen tanks were being hoisted by a crane when they let go and fell about 50 feet, crashing to the deck below.

There was substantial damage to equipment but fortunately no injuries.

Contacted by VOCM, Cenovus confirmed the incident, saying the cannisters fell during cargo-lifting operations, which were halted, and a safety review held with staff onboard.

A review of crane operations was also completed Monday morning before work resumed.
