ROAN MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WJHL) — This week we travel to Roan Mountain, Tennessee to meet our Educator of the Week. Leeanne Nelson is in her second year teaching history and social studies at Cloudland Middle School. "I get to mentor the next generation while teaching them history, which I love," Nelson said. "More importantly, I get to make connections with the kids and be a positive role model for them."

Students like Aubrey Chambers say Nelson's ability to connect with her and her classmates is what makes the class so enjoyable.

"She kind of tries to come down on our level and really, like, try to understand with us on what we're doing," Chambers said. "She explains and breaks things down. She's really energetic and a really social person, and I think that just helps the class." That conn
