iPhone users are being warned that two types of phones will no longer be supported ‘within weeks’ when an new operating system is released. According to reports iPhone XR and XS users are being told to consider upgrading their devices as these models are not supported by the upcoming iOS 19 update, which is expected in September 2025.

This means the phones will probably not receive the new features or the latest security updates. Since these phones will likely be “stuck” on the older iOS 18 or earlier, users may need to purchase a newer iPhone, such as an iPhone 11 or later, to continue to receive the latest software and security updates, which are crucial for overall phone security and performance.
