LIHUE — Boone Clifton, playing in the Girls 9-10 Flight at the Kauai Junior Golf Association one-day tournament on Sunday at the Puakea Golf Course, took her flight with a tournament total 90.
“We had a kid make an Albatross on Hole today,” said Paul Ito, who normally supplies information from the Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf matches. “Playing from the Blue Fairway tees, Boone Clifton crushed her drive, and then, holed out with a 6 Iron to make a 2 on the par five 11th hole for an albatross.”
According to the Professional Golf Association, “an albatross is achieved when a player either aces a par 4, or scores a 2 on a par 5.”
