We have seen this painful movie, this wretched drama, this sordid reality television show, many times before. A woman, or group of women, decide to tell their stories, of male power and male privilege run amuck, of rape, of sexual abuse, of endless harassment, of being paralyzed from speaking their truth for an extended period, if ever, because the debilitating fear of retribution is mighty real. If racism in America is race plus power, then sexism in America—the domination of women and girls by all available means—by those of us who identify as men and boys, is certainly sex, or gender, plus power.
