Several people, including multiple children, have been hospitalized after a fire broke out in a northwest Atlanta apartment early Tuesday, according to officials.
Atlanta fire officials told Channel 2 Action News they believe the blaze started in a third-floor breezeway of the Magnolia Park Apartments off Carter Street about a block east from Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard in the Vine City neighborhood. The flames blocked several residents from evacuation.
Authorities did not immediately respond to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s request for information.
Those hospitalized were being treated for smoke inhalation or minor burns, Channel 2 reported.
