An Edinburgh man is preparing to take on a gruelling challenge in honour of his twin who was diagnosed with MND.

On Wednesday, September 10, Tommy Zyw is preparing to cycle 600km from Beaune in Burgundy with his driving force being his brothers diagnosis.

In 2018 Tommy’s twin brother Davy was diagnosed with MND and since then, the brothers have taken on various challenges to raise the profile of the disease and raise funds for research.

As Tommy gets set to take on this alpine challenge, his brother Davy is in training to qualify in Snowboarding for the Winter Paralympic Games in Milan 2026.

He was diagnosed when he was 30-years-old and in 2023, he became the first person with MND to compete in international para snowboarding, winning two silver medals at the FIS Para Snowboard event i
