The Department for Work and Pensions has help worth up to £333 a month for looking after someone. There are millions of carers in the UK on low or no pay, with many of them missing out on vital help in the form of DWP Carer's Allowance or Carer's Credit.
If you're aged 16+, earning less than £196 a week (after tax), and providing 35+ hours of weekly care for someone who needs daily living help and is claiming certain benefits, you could be due Carer's Allowance, worth £83.30 a week.
If so, Carer's Credit is given automatically on top. To claim Carer's Allowance, you must provide care for someone for at least 35 hours a week. Additionally, the person being cared for must also receive certain benefits, including:
