The son of a former Premier League footballer has been arrested for drink driving by armed police in a McDonald's drive-thru, according to court reports. Tom Huckerby, whose father Darren Huckerby played as a forward for Newcastle United and Manchester City, admitted to drink driving at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Friday (Sep 5).
The court heard that the 25 year old blew 63 microgrammes of alcohol when officers arrested him in his VW Polo, nearly double the legal limit of 35 microgrammes per 100 millilitres of breath.
Speaking outside the hearing, Huckerby revealed that staff at the McDonald's on Barrett Road in Norwich had called the police after his friend held down his horn. He said the staff suspected they had been drinking and was shocked when armed police arrested him on July 1
