LOS ANGELES – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Metro Expo light rail train south of the Leimert Park neighborhood and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.
Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to 2600 block of Exposition Boulevard and Seventh Avenue, east of Expo/Crenshaw Boulevard Station at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday.
According to police, the train was traveling west on Exposition when it collided with the pedestrian near the tracks, according to an LAPD spokesman.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were called to the scene, where they pronounced the victim dead.
The LAPD’s South Traffic Division will be in charge of the investigation of the pedestrian’s death.
