Animal lovers have been reduced to tears by the story of an abandoned kitten who was found outside in winter, unable to even open her eyes, before finding a loving home.

In November 2023, Sabera Qazi and her husband Brian Baigorria, both 28, spotted a tiny kitten and its mother on the porch of Baigorria's parents' home. They were clearly strays, but as they had each other, the couple presumed they were safe.

However, when Baigorria stopped by the following day, the kitten was "alone and crying" by the door. He thought the kitten had got stuck and couldn't get back down the stairs, so Baigorria gently picked her up and carried her back to the grassy area below in the hopes of reuniting it with her mother.

Unfortunately, that didn't seem to work because the kitten returned the next day. Q
