CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Clayton County commissioners have approved a new ordinance that reduces penalties for low-level marijuana possession.

What we know:

The ordinance sets a civil fine of up to $150 for people caught with less than one ounce of marijuana, replacing jail time and higher fines.

First-time offenders or individuals under 21 may also be required to complete a substance abuse education program. Clayton County News
