A Central Florida man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in a five-vehicle wreck on Florida’s Turnpike on Monday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 30-year-old Longwood man was riding a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja northbound at mile marker 257 in the Orange County stretch of the turnpike south of the Interstate 4 exits at 8:28 p.m. The rider was in the inside center lane of a four-lane stretch of the turnpike when a 2007 Hino tow truck driven by a 39-year-old West Palm Beach man that had been in the center outside lane changed lanes moving left into the motorcyclist’s lane, according to an FHP crash report.
The rider then lost control of the motorcycle, sending him and the bike into the inside lane closest to the median in front of three vehicles coming up from behind.
