In a clash between two of the area’s most decorated programs, Camas volleyball captured a four-set win over Ridgefield on Monday at home.

Camas (2-0) has earned a trophy at four of the last five Class 4A state tournaments, placing fifth last year.

Ridgefield (0-1) has been a consistent 2A power, placing second in state for three consecutive tournaments after winning titles in 2018 and 2019. The Spudders placed sixth at last year’s state tournament in what was a rebuilding year.

Monday, the Spudders started strong and took the first set 25-22. But Camas bounced back to with the second set 25-20, the third set 25-10 and closed out the match in the fourth set 25-18.

Shaylee Stephens led the Papermakers with 14 kills, Noel Beulieu added 11 kills and Kendyl Wiest had nine kills.
