BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Over 90% of unionized healthcare workers represented by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo voted on Monday night to authorize a strike vote if a contract deal isn't reached.

CWA represents over 2,800 nurses, service, technical and clerical workers across Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, Kenmore Mercy Hospital and Sisters of Charity Hospital St. Joseph Campus, all of which are at the bargaining table, a CWA spokesperson said. Mercy Hospital and its affiliates are the only facilities where workers can legally strike.
