Only a Few Areas Could See Storms This Evening

LUBBOCK, Texas (KLBK) — Here is your forecast for Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from Meteorologist Leah Rodriguez.

Today: The majority of the day will be bright and sunny, and temperatures will warm up quickly. Here in Lubbock, we are anticipating a high temperature of 93 degrees, while the rest of the KLBK viewing area is also expected to reach the low 90s. By 4 PM CDT, isolated showers and storms will begin developing off to the west near the TX-NM border. This activity will move eastward throughout the evening with the potential for one or two storms to become severe. Keep in mind, the actual possibility of a storm becoming severe today is low, but the characteristics would include winds gusting up to 70 MPH and up to quarter (1") sized hail. Flooding is unlikely, but also possible if a
