CHEBOYGAN – No wins. Several losses by mercy. Only four goals.

On the soccer field, last season for Cheboygan boys soccer started badly and didn’t get better late.

But a lot can change in a year – and it has for the Chiefs on the pitch .

While the Chiefs (0-5-1) are still chasing their first victory of 2025, there’s signs it’ll come sooner rather than later as the program has quickly improved in terms of depth, quality and mindset.

Monday was evidence of Cheboygan’s progression as the Chiefs, despite falling short in a 7-2 loss to Charlevoix, played with a more fearless and aggressive approach compared to 2024, when many of their contests ended by halftime.

When you ask the Cheboygan players themselves, this fall has been a breath of fresh air.
