CARLISLE, Iowa —

Superintendent Erik Anderson leads the 2,200-student Carlisle Community School District.

He wants voters to understand what's at stake in Tuesday's special election.

"What's on the line for the school district is about $3 million per year," Anderson said. "This is just a continuation of a tax. This is not a new tax."

Voters could choose to renew the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy.

A "yes" vote would continue the funding for another 10 years.

Anderson stresses the rate isn't going up.

To district taxpayers, it means $1.34 per $1,000 of assessed value on a property.
