COLUMBIA, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson says the recent swatting event at the University of South Carolina was orchestrated by an online gore-seeking group called Purgatory.

He said the group has ties to a broader network targeting vulnerable youths.

The incident happened on Aug. 24, just days after the fall semester began.
