Woman found dead after Far South Side fire

A woman died in a fire early Tuesday in the East Side neighborhood.

The woman, 73, was found unresponsive after the blaze in the 11000 block of South Avenue N just before 7 a.m., Chicago police said.

The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
