SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield teenager wanted for drug trafficking and firearm charges after a police chase on I-91 was captured.

In a news release from the Springfield Police Department, detectives were investigating 19-year-old Domanyck Nieves of Springfield for the past several months for an active arrest warrant. Nieves was wanted in connection with firearms charges and cocaine and fentanyl trafficking stemming from a high-speed chase on I-91.

Nearly a month ago, on Sunday, August 10th, Massachusetts State Police Troopers stopped a driver at around 7:20 p.m. on I-91 south in Whately. When the trooper approached the vehicle, the driver, later identified as Nieves, sped off, leading police on a chase, going approximately 115 miles per hour, weaving through traffic.
