VALATIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) - On the heels of summer, fall is knocking on the door! Known for their apple cider donuts, one family-farm in Columbia County is gearing up for their busiest season. NEWS10’s Cassie Hudson checks out Golden Harvest Farms in this week’s Off the Beaten Path.
Golden Harvest Farms specializes in apples, apple cider and of course, apple cider donuts. They also offer fresh produce, pumpkins, honey, syrup, and seasonal flowers (like mums!).
On the property, you’ll also find the farm’s distillery. Started by Derek Grout, Harvest Spirits uses their apple cider to make vodka, old-style applejack, and other spirits. Their John Henry bourbon whiskey is named after a longtime employee who makes their daily apple cider donuts.
