KINGSPORT, Tenn. — U.S. Marshals and the Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested the leader of a Knoxville street following a high speed chase spanning two states, the agencies said in a press release Tuesday.
According to the U.S. Marshal for East Tennessee, David Jolley, Jametrick Franklin King was wanted out of Washington County on a probation violation and burglary. Jolley said King was also under federal indictment out of Greeneville for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of meth.
Both agencies attempted to arrest King in Kingsport but they said King got spooked after seeing a marked police car. Jolley said King took off at a high rate of speed. Jolley said King eventually got onto I-81 northbound and just as he crossed the Virginia state line, he crashed his car.
