Two Meta whistleblowers will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on allegations that the company, which includes social media giants Facebook and Instagram, suppressed research about the safety of child users.

Former Meta researchers Jason Sattizahn and Cayce Savage are scheduled to appear before the committee.

The Washington Post reported Monday that Sattizahn said he had conducted an interview in Germany during which a teenage boy said he and his younger had been sexually propositioned by strangers on Meta’s virtual reality headsets. He said the recording of the teen’s account was ordered deleted by Sattizahn’s supervisor and the final report did not include the specific allegations.
