Bill and Gale Brittain were recently honored at the Evening of Hope benefit dinner for the McNabb Center where they were awarded the Hope Award for their efforts in supporting the Jail-to-Work program organized by the Center.

The Hamblen County Jail-to-Work Program for women now has years’ worth of success stories from the women who have been participants.

“Back in 2017, I proposed it to McNabb to try to help manage our overcrowded jail situation,” Bill, former Hamblen County mayor, said. “So once we got the plan together and presented it to the County Commission, they were all for it. And then we had some trouble getting some companies to hire the ladies.
