With just over a week until the season opener, the Windsor Spitfires’ roster is starting to take shape.

Windsor trimmed its roster by four more players on Tuesday by sending goalie Jake Windbiel, defenceman Grady Spicer and forward Ian Inskip to the club’s junior B LaSalle Vipers affiliate club and sending forward Loan Burkhalter home to play in Switzerland.

“It’s just a reality that we have players ahead of them at their position,” Spitfires’ general manager Bill Bowler said. “This is a tough team to make and a tough league to play in. They just have to keep getting better. They have growth in their game and are going to a prime place to hone their skills and become OHL players.”
