DENVER (KDVR) — Search and rescue crews have recovered a body at Horsetooth Reservoir, believed to be a paddleboarder who was reported missing Sunday.

The paddleboarder, who was not wearing a personal flotation device, was reported missing near Satanka Cove on the Larimer County reservoir, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office on Tuesday morning announced crews found the body late Monday evening.

“Wind can come through at any time,” Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Kara Van Hoose said during the recovery efforts. “That’s something that can be kind of hard to predict. So, it’s best to really plan for the worst-case scenario. And that involves wearing your life jacket at all times.”
