LONG BEACH — The Bishop Amat girls flag football team scored the final 20 points to knock off St. Anthony 27-17 in a nonleague game Monday night.

Bishop Amat (12-3) is the top-ranked team in the San Gabriel Valley and is ranked No. 34 in the Southern Section by MaxPreps.

“It’s our first season so we’re really just trying to get better every week,” Bishop Amat coach Sean Koelle said. “We’re trying to play some really quality opponents.”

St. Anthony quarterback Jordyn Washington led her squad with two touchdown passes in the first half. However, the Saints could not overcome Bishop Amat’s adjustments and second-half surge in a game at the St. Anthony Athletic Complex.
