STARKE, Fla. — Residents of Starke are asked to avoid Thompson Street after a car crashed into a local Italian restaurant Ton uesday, according to Starke Fire Rescue.

SFR reports that an elderly couple has been taken to a local hospital following the crash, which took place at Tony's Italian Restaurant on 117 S. Thompson St.

Locals are asked to avoid the area as emergency crews are on scene.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
